Duryea Family

This section is now under construction. It includes Townsend Duryea and his brother Sanford Duryea who made daguerreotypes under the name of Duryea Brothers during the 1850s, and Townsend's four sons  who also became photographers -- Townsend Junr., Edwin, Richard and Frank.

However, the largest part will be devoted to Townsend Duryea Senior, who played a prominent part in South Australian photography between 1860 and 1875.

A section devoted to the dating of all known carte de visite mounts used by Townsend Duryea Senior has been completed. Your direct link to this dating guide is  Contents/Dating C. de V's.
